The Two Dimensions Of Islam

 If Islam come as a complete way of life, and doesn't address the issues of philosophy, psychology, human nature, and other phenomenon, then, we don't fully understand what Islam is. 

The fact is that nobody is to be blamed. And non of we Muslim has any right to condemn any fellow Muslim, unless the person don't know Allah, don't understand Islam or he is worshipping with ignorant.

Each Muslim is acting or practicing Islam according to whom he chose as his religious leader or mentor, near or far.

Here is the fact, very clear to every sensible, sensitive and unbiased persons. Islam is of two dimensions. 

1. Dimension 1 is sharia, Islamic laws that see to man's relationship (in this case Muslim) with fellow human being, Muslim or non Muslim, ranging from parents, children, wife or husband to transactional level, to political level. Not only human being, but other animals, plants and man's surrounding. You will notice that there is sharia rules in all these and others.

2. The second dimensions of Islam is tasawuf. This deal with your relationship 1. With yourself, and your Lord. Tasawuf is the spiritual aspect of Islam that keep you closer to Allah.

Do you need to be distant from your Creator.  

Nobody can deny this aspect of Islam. The closer you move towards God, the closer you become. All Muslim needs Allah. 

Those that think more of Allah, that always wants to be in his companion or love to be in communion with Him remember Him most often. These are sufis. They love Allah. They love the Prophe, SAW. They love fellow human being. They love doing good. They love no stone unturned in the worshipping of Allah.

Prominent example of these people is  Sheikh Ibrahim RA. 

There are many verses in the Holy Quran where Allah is talking about the likes of these people.

I may not be able to give much, but check these verses in the Quran and compare the words of Allah with their lives.

Imran : 191

Allah is talking about the example of these people.

Compare the content of the verses with the way of these people.

3. Ibrahim b. Adham (deceased 160/777) Ibrahim b. Adham, whom Junaid of Baghdad called the key to Sufism, also argued for asceticism which, according to him, related to world alienation, celibacy and poverty. To him, a true saint is one who desires nothing of this world, nothing of the next, and devotes himself exclusively to God.9 In the same tension, he told a questioner who had asked him about his occupation that he had left the world to the world seekers of the world and the hereafter for the seekers of the hereafter, and had chosen for himself the memory of God in this world and the blessed vision in the next.10 He advocated celibacy and poverty as the requirements for true asceticism.
